Prototype and site specific interior design for extended stay hotels developed for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest regions. Larkspur Landing’s were conceived as a boutique brand oriented toward the upper end of the extended stay market. Proximity to large corporate campuses in suburban locations was one of the site selection criteria.
All properties feature four unit types with fully stocked kitchens. Average fixture, furnishing and equipment budgets per property were two million dollars with an average footprint of eighty thousand square feet per property.
Our work scope included custom designed case goods and lighting as well as extensive use of artwork throughout the property to create a very residential environment.
Established by Karl Hoagland of Corte Madera, California Larkspur Landing hotels were Karl’s first foray into the hospitality industry. Guided by his intuition, he sought an Arts and Crafts aesthetic for these properties. This desired aesthetic was blended with modern touches to create a more timeless environment.
Larkspur Landing properties have been sold a few times since the downturn. Hersha Hospitality Trust now manages this regional collection of hotels. Karl Hoagland has retired from the hospitality industry.
